Sunday 4-28-13 (Being Receptive)

How often do we allow ourselves to learn from those around us? God teaches us in whatever way He chooses. It is important to be receptive to learning and growing more and more no matter whom or what is teaching us. It is a dangerous place to say that you know enough, because that is the moment when you stop receiving and being receptive. It is much easier to accept pride than it is to accept a lesson, so stay aware of when your pride gets in the way. Also be aware of when God is speaking to you and allow yourself to be receptive to His words.

Sunday 4-21-13 (Prayer, Fellowship, Unity)

In the early church there was a principle that was essential to their way of life. It was that prayer and fellowship will bring unity. Unity is necessary in the church, if everyone is on a different page the disjointedness will cause division and a church divided will not stand. When unity is broken the anointing is also broken. So prayer and fellowship are essential to creating an effective church and healthy individuals in the church. Prayer is not simply giving God a grocery list or talking at Him. Prayer is communing with God, it involves speaking and listening. Fellowship includes participation. When a body of believers are gathered together there is safety. Be actively communing with God and fellowship with other believers, it is the way to a unified and anointed church.

Sunday 4-14-13 (What Do We Do Now 2)

After Jesus rose from the dead, the disciples must have wondered what life would be like now that their master was restored to them. Then Jesus ascended on high and changed the disciples plans for the future. We are living in a time with the availability of the Holy Spirit and having this access to Him is precious. We were left not as orphans, but with the Holy Spirit to guide us ONWARD. We must keep moving forward, because we have the tools to succeed we must keep moving. Time keeps moving on whether we are moving forward or not. Continue making steps toward God, because no matter how slowly you are moving, you are making progress and that is victory!

Victorious Christian Living 8

As Pastor Lynn wraps up the Victorious Christian Living series he gives an amazing example of how we can partake in the nature of God. If God is a fire and we are a sword, the longer that the sword is united with the fire, the more and more that the sword will radiate heat and light. Without being united with the fire the sword will continue to function only in its nature. Similarly, without being united with God we can only function in our human nature and we cannot win the battle against sin. However, when we are connected to God we can begin to live and function in His strength and power and we can live a victorious Christian life!

Victorious Christian Living 7

Victorious living is more than winning a battle every now and then, living victoriously takes everyday diligence and participating in a union with Christ. We need to understand what a union with Christ means, how it comes into being, and how to sustain your union with Him. Being united with Christ allows us to function in His human nature. We have the potential to develop 100% into His nature and function in His characteristics, but we aren’t all in the same developmental place. To fulfill our potential in Christ we must daily win battles against our flesh, but that is simply part of living a victorious Christian life!

Victorious Christian Living 6

Knowing what you really believe about the God that you serve is so important in achieving victory in your life. You cannot be expected to understand everything about Him because He is unfathomable, however, we need to seek out more of who He is daily. Something that many people find difficult to understand is the Trinity. Often people believe that it is impossible to understand, but with a clear description of the picture it is much easier to comprehend. As Pastor Lynn dives into explaining the Trinity, he brings a fresh and simple approach to looking at the person and nature of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Victorious Christian Living 5

Having a healthy relationship with God is vital in living a victorious life. Something that is also vital is knowing about God! Too often we rely on just our experiences with God and don’t dive deeper into a knowledge of Him. The passion that we have for God needs to fuel a passion to know about Him. As we grow in our relationship with Him we must also solidify our foundation in the knowledge of who He is. To live a victorious Christian life we must combine both a healthy relationship and a solid knowledge of who He is!
